KEYNOTE: Technology is a reflection of ourselves: War, play, art, love and sex
Technology is defined as “knowledge put into practical use.” Affordance is defined as “a property of an object that indicates how we might use it.” This talk explores how technology is not neutral, but acts as a mirror or ourselves, allowing us to indulge our desires, good and bad.
Commissioned as a special talk on the subject, this unique talk by Dr. Alistair Cockburn looks at technology from words to rocks, and opens the moral question of technology that most technology innovators ignore. (P.s. there won’t be any explicit sex in the talk.)
Dr. Alistair Cockburn (pronounced CO-BURN) was named as one of the “42 Greatest Software Professionals of All Times" in 2020, as a world expert on methodologies, project management, software architecture, use cases and agile development. He co-authored both the Agile Manifesto and the Project Management Declaration of Inter-dependence.
