Is Your Company Ready for AI’s Speed?

Artificial intelligence grows fast because more data and computing power make bigger systems possible. Large AI models are now easy to get, and every company wants an edge. But old ways of working can block progress. This session shows how organizations need to adapt, so teams can use AI for real results, not just more noise. Based on the insights from our book chapter, from real world scenarios and using interactive exercises, you will learn what to change in structures, people and processes so your company stays ready when AI speeds up work.

Target Audience: Management, Decision Makers, Project Leads, Product Managers
Prerequisites:Basic Understanding of Organizational Design
Level: Introductory

Extended Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is moving fast because huge amounts of data and cheap computing power make it easy to build complex systems. Big AI models are now simple to access, so every company wants to use them to get ahead. But many do not see how old ways of working can hold them back. Teams can build faster than old rules allow, and this can create confusion instead of results.

This session shows how leaders and teams can make sure they can use AI to deliver real value by focusing on organizational design rather than just technology adoption:

When AI speeds up their work, teams need more freedom to decide for themselves than ever before. Top-down control and work break down structures that once helped can now become blockers. At the same time, companies must keep strong rules for how they use AI, so they avoid bias, mistakes and unclear choices.

Therefore, let’s discuss where classic ways of working, even Agile, might not fit the challenge anymore. This will help us look at how to shape three key parts of an organization: structure, processes and people for AI-readiness. We will discuss based on theory and using real case studies what practices still help, what to change and what to stop. From this follows that new skills, smart hiring and clear rules for ethics and oversight are now must-haves.

In the end, you will leave with clear steps to help your teams work better, move faster and stay in control when AI changes the pace of work for good.

This session is drawing from the research that we did for the book chapter "Die Veränderung von Beratung und Business Coaching" that we contributed to the book "KI-Transformation in Deutschland" that will be published in Q4/2025 by Breyer-Mayländer, Drechler and Zerres (editors).
