Robots Among Us: Advances in AI for Everyday Androids

Robotics is transitioning from factory floors to our everyday lives, particularly through humanoid robots. This session features a live demonstration of our Unitree G1 android, exploring how advances in AI, increasing data availability, and edge computing hardware are transforming science fiction into reality.

Target Audience: Everyone
Prerequisites:Interest in Robotics
Level: Introductory

Extended Abstract:
We begin with an overview of robotics, then examine robot training and demonstrate how integrated hardware and software bridge the gap between simulation and real-world deployment. Finally, we reveal how Vision-Language-Action models facilitate meaningful human-robot interaction and enable future applications.

Outline:

  • History of Robotics
  • How to build a robot
  • How to train a robot
  • Simulation environments
  • Reinforcement learning
  • Vision Language Action Models
TNG Technology Consulting GmbH
Managing Partner

In his role as a Partner for TNG Technology Consulting in Munich, Thomas Endres works as an IT consultant. Besides his normal work for the company and the customers he is creating various prototypes - like a telepresence robotics system with which you can see reality through the eyes of a robot, or an Augmented Reality AI that shows the world from the perspective of an artist. He is working on various applications in the fields of AR/VR, AI and gesture control, putting them to use e.g. in autonomous or gesture controlled drones. But he is also involved in other Open Source projects written in Java, C# and all kinds of JavaScript languages.
