Extended Abstract
Which tools and software are being used for Big Data & Analytics in the European Aerospace industry? What are its applications and use cases and how does the industry make sure to comply with the high standards and regulations in aerospace? Sopra Steria is an official partner on the Skywise platform and will provide insights on this innovative solution.

In this talk we want to give the audience an overview of the applications of Big Data & Artificial Intelligence methods in the aerospace industry. We will explain the environment defined by its regulations, standards, stakeholders and its origins (from a data-perspective). Afterwards we present a typical pipeline in aerospace from ETL ('Extract, Transform, Load') to management decisions based on KPI Dashboards including some of the tools and methods involved. We will show how these pipelines change the business process environment and how big data gets monetized with the example of a final assembly line and the potential regarding artificial intelligence. Finally, we will discuss typical challenges that we came across in our projects which make the application of artificial intelligence difficult.
